Mari-Elizabeth LaMarre
Sanford

Mari-Elizabeth LaMarre Sanford (“Mel”) is principal and founder of the Law Offices that bear her name.
In 2018, she passed the Tennessee Bar and began her legal career with a personal injury law firm where she represented clients in pre-litigation and litigation matters involving accident and injury claims.
In 2020, Mel re-located to Pasadena, California where she represented clients involved in claims related to employment. This new field of practice brought a broader perspective of the evaluation and resolution of litigation matters from both the plaintiff and defendant's point of view.
In 2021, Mel returned to Memphis where she applied her experience, recovering millions of dollars on behalf of victims.
Her passion for the pursuit of justice fueled her decision to enter law school after working as a student intern in the Special Victim's Unit of the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office.
She has always been a serious student and a high achiever. Mel was recruited to the U of M after graduating sixth in her class from Overton High School. She attended the University as a Dean’s Scholarship recipient and was inducted into the Helen Hardin Honors College where she majored in psychology with a minor in criminal justice. In 2015, she graduated from the University in just three years.
In 2018, Mel went on to graduate cum laude from the University of Mississippi School of Law and to pass the Tennessee Bar in the same year.
She is active in her community serving on the Board of Directors of HER Faith Ministries which provides emergency food, clothing, rent and utility assistance, help with transportation and other services to struggling women with children.
She is also active in her church where she serves as director of youth programs and is head of the drama team. Mel enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
